The Western Washington Amateur Repeater Association is looking for a new
Officer to fill the role of Board Secretary!

Do you have administrative skills and experience? Do you want to give
back to Amateur Radio for all you’ve benefitted? Can you contribute a
few hours of time per month, giving back to the amateur community? If
so, the WWARA needs you!

We are looking for a volunteer who would function as an officer in the
organization, filling the role of Board Secretary. We are also looking
for volunteers to function in other roles such as “Band Chair”.

The Western Washington Amateur Repeater Association needs your help to
continue its mission of providing coordinating services and ensuring
smooth repeater operation throughout Western Washington.

The WWARA, through its volunteer staff and members, gives many hundreds
(thousands?) of hours of work each year to provide coordination
services, provide most accurate repeater listings in multiple formats
(PDF, CSV and CHIRP), technical assistance, detailed band plans for
VHF/UHF, and work out repeater operations conflicts for Western
Washington, as well as working with neighboring coordinating
organizations. This happens through MANY different jobs and roles.

From managing applications and renewals of coordination, to
administration of the organization, development and maintenance of the
database, record keeping, communication with applicants and managing
communication with other organizations, we need many volunteers. Yet
right now the WWARA is operating understaffed and this has been VERY
challenging for our organization, particularly when applicants have no
idea the work that goes into each application, not to mention the
challenges of running the organization.

Yet new volunteers can make a HUGE difference with this by joining and
volunteering as little as an hour or two of time per month.

The WWARA is looking for a few volunteers that are have an interest in
providing time to help with administrative tasks as diverse as
processing applications for coordination to organization administration,
as well as database development tasks, and even community outreach.
While we are looking for several volunteers with administrative
experience and the interest to put that to work, we are specifically
looking for at least one volunteer with experience organizing non-profit
operations.

If you would be interested in helping out and would like further
information, please WWARA Chairman, Grant Hopper, KB7WSD at
chair@wwara.org
